TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND CONSULTING

RRI is here to support your compliance needs.  We have vast experience in all aspects of the hazardous materials packaging and transport regulations and hazardous waste management regulations.  We have and are currently providing consulting services, adjunct staff services, and compliance training to a number of clients.  It’s what we do and we’re very good at it.

 Hazardous Materials Packaging and Transportation

For 25 years, the professionals at RRI have been dedicated to providing advice and support in the domestic and international hazardous materials packaging and transport regulations.  We worked with numerous clients – single owner businesses, small businesses, large corporations, U.S. government agencies, the International Atomic Energy Agency – in providing regulatory guidance and operation support.  Our work has included the publishing of compliance papers, regulatory positions, compliance solutions, federal and state government liaison support, operations and management support, and more.  Our knowledge and understanding of the hazardous materials packaging and transport regulations is extensive.  We have always been active in the rulemaking process, and responsibility we continue to this day.

 Waste Management

Regulations are challenging.  RRI possess expertise in not only the Hazardous Materials Regulations but has years of operational knowledge of the hazardous waste regulations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).  Over the years we’ve worked with companies in achieving optimal waste management operations and ensuring regulatory compliance.  We regularly support compliance efforts and work activity with actual operations.  RRI has spent hours developing detailed waste stream mappings of processes to clearly identify when, where, and why the RCRA hazardous waste regulations apply…and then drafting waste management plans that allow optimal operations and ensures the wastes are properly characterized and managed.

 Regulatory Compliance

This is what we do.  We work with our clients to ensure their operations are performed in a regulatory compliance manner.  We pass on this knowledge to those we support, either by on-site consulting or through are in-depth, professional training.  Many times when compliance issue arises you don’t have the time necessary to perform the research and draft positions to address the concern.  Let us do that for you.  We work for you and with the regulators to solve these problems and knock down the compliance hurdles.

Audits and Assessments

How well are you doing?  Are you achieving regulatory compliance?  Do you have vulnerabilities?  Is there a way to save time or money all the while achieving compliant operations?  Do you really have time to look at your operations in enough detail to answer all these questions?  Don’t worry, we’ll do it for you.  RRI is ready and able to come into your company and assess your hazmat packaging and transport activities and waste management operations.  We coordinate with you to infuse your company’s requirements into our assessment to provide you with a fuller picture of your compliance status.

Adjunct Staff Support

Is there too much on your plate?  If the answer to this question is “no” then write a book and get your secret out!  RRI is here to help you in your daily operations.  Often, you don’t need full-time support, or are unable to hire someone to fill the needed spot.  That’s where we come in.  RRI can contract with you to provide support as adjunct staff.  We tackle the compliance or operations work you need to get done but just can’t get to.  We’re only there when you need us.  And don’t worry if you have tight personnel security requirements.  Our staff has already had thorough background checks performed as required by some of the government agencies we support.

TRAINING

Our lead designer and instructor, Wade Winters, has been developing and teaching since 1983.  His philosophy in the design of the training assures you have useable, working materials that are active references you can apply in operations.  His teaching techniques promote learning in such a way that you can leave the class and immediately apply the information to your daily activities.  And we don’t hold back!  RRI’s courses are filled with the regulations and how to meet the requirements operationally, so much so that we even identify the intensity level on each course syllabus.  When we say it’s an advanced course…we mean it!  For a listing of our courses click here.

Domestic Hazmat Training

Our course structure covers all aspects of the hazmat employee and employer world.  We have hazmat courses targeted to drivers, new hazmat employees, and veterans responsible for all aspects of packaging and shipping compliance.  And our courses are specific.  Do you need a general, overall hazmat course…we’ve got it.  Do you need an advanced course for just hazardous waste or radioactive materials packaging and shipping…we’ve got it.  Do you need a course that targets those responsible for packagings…we’ve got it.  How about an advanced course that looks at the perspective of the inspector – not how to do it but is it within scope…we’ve got it.  We specialize to meet your needs.  That’s right, if you have a need for a course and don’t see it, call us.  RRI will design and deliver what you need.

International Multimodal Training

RRI is not limited to only domestic packaging and transport regulations.  We also provide training to the international air regulations (ICAO/IATA) and international vessel regulations (IMDG Code).  One of our specialties is the packaging and transport requirements for radioactive materials.  We teach combined domestic/international courses or can focus on just international if that’s your need.  Remember, if you have a specific desire, call us…we’ll accommodate.

RCRA Waste Operations

We don’t boiler-plate training.  Our RCRA hazardous waste class is designed specifically with operations in mind.  We cover in detail definitions, the characterization process, on-site treatment options (and why), accumulation and storage, and waste disposition – the full LDR picture.  You have a specific waste you want to address?  No problem!  We’ll map out the process and waste stream(s) and then apply the requirements and options available.  You’ll know why there may be multiple points of generation; you’ll know what treatment is okay and which require a permit (and why); you’ll know what LDR requirements and paperwork are needed at each given point in your waste management process.  In other words, what you get in class you’ll be able to take back with you and apply immediately!
