Advanced DOT Radioactive Materials P&T Course

Based on requests, Regulatory Resources,Inc. (RRI) will be conducting the DOT Advanced Radioactive Materials Packaging and Transport Workshop (Crs 303) on March 11-15, 2019 at the Cities of Gold Hotel.  The closing of registrations is February 28, 2019.

 This advanced workshop is for persons who are responsible for compliance concerning the U.S.domestic packaging and transport of Class 7 radioactive materials.  Those responsible for compliance must ensure a system is in place that ensures regulatory compliance, including but not limited to, Class 7 radioactive material classification, packaging, hazard communications,and transport controls.  The main objectives of the workshop are:

  • Identify the scope of the Class 7 transport regulations and the regulatory interfaces
  • Define and apply unique terms in the Class 7 material packaging and transport regulations
  • Appreciate the graded requirements prescribed for packages intended for transporting Class 7 materials
  • Optimally categorize Class 7 radioactive material
  • Select the package type options for a given Class 7 radioactive material
  • Carry out the requirements for the transport of Class 7 radioactive material
  • Identify controls that are required for the transport of Class 7 radioactive materials
  • Identify other requirements and considerations that affect or are affected by the transport of Class 7 radioactive material
